£27m Project Receives ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating

The Hengrove Park Leisure Centre, completed on February 28, 2012, is a premier PFI project designed to offer extensive facilities and promote healthy living. The centre features:

• A 50-metre, ten-lane competition pool with two booms and moveable floors for flexible programming
• A variety of wet and dry changing facilities
• A crèche
• A four-court sports hall
• Healthy living zones
• A café
• A 150-station fitness suite
• Two dance studios
• A dedicated spin studio
• Spectator viewing areas for the pool hall
• Spacious circulation areas

Cost and Additional Features

The total cost of the scheme was £27.4 million. In addition to the leisure facilities, the project includes a 321-space pay-and-display car park and a landscaped plaza adjoining the centre, adjacent to the new hospital and park.
