Extending the Life of a Critical Local Facility – Hutton Moor Leisure Centre

Parkwood Project Management provided comprehensive support to North Somerset Council in the development of a detailed Scope of Works and Specifications for three critical projects. These projects were essential to ensuring the Hutton Moor Leisure Centre could continue to deliver vital services to the local community. The specific projects included:

• Replacement of existing roof coverings with a new, high-performance 30-year system, incorporating energy-efficient insulation upgrades to enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs.
• Replacement of two outdated swimming pool Air Handling Units with modern, energy-efficient units, integrated with intelligent Building Management System (BMS) controls for optimised performance and energy management.
• Installation of a new, code-compliant customer passenger lift to improve accessibility and enhance the overall user experience.

These long-awaited upgrades have played a crucial role in modernising this highly utilized local facility. Throughout the project lifecycle, PPM worked in close collaboration with North Somerset Council and leisure operators to minimise disruption to services and ensure minimal impact on facility users. This collaborative and proactive approach ensured the successful delivery of these essential upgrades, enhancing the facility’s functionality, efficiency, and overall appeal.
